Pastor Larry W. Cain & First Lady Tomiko Cain

 

Reverend Larry W. Cain subscribes to a Servant Leadership style as found in ​1 Peter 5, “not lording over those entrusted to your care, but being examples to the flock”. If I ask them to share their faith, give generously, I better be sharing my faith, and giving generously too. If a leader expects anyone to follow, he better know where he is going. 

 

Reverend Larry W. Cain’s ministry mission is to assist the Church and Christian Ministry to fulfill the Great Commission through relevant evangelistic preaching, teaching, and by transforming believers of Jesus into fully developed, reproducing Disciples of Christ. 


Reverend Cain was called into the ministry in September of 2001. He preached his first sermon and was licensed on October 21, 2001 and ordained on February 20, 2005 at St. John Baptist Church, Haughton, Louisiana. All under the leadership of the late Reverend D. U. Bell. 
 

Reverend Cain served as Assistant Pastor of the St. John Baptist Church from 2005 – 2008. He is the former Pastor of the Antioch Baptist Church #2 in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana (February 2008 until July 2012). 

He served in many areas of the church prior to accepting his calling to preach the gospel. He served as a Chairman of the Board of Deacons, President of Brotherhood, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, President of the 13th District Laymen Department and Director of Junior Laymen of the Louisiana Baptist State Convention. 

 

He is a graduate of the Booker T. Washington High. He served in the United States Navy where he received an honorable discharge. He is a Graduate of the Louisiana Baptist University Theological Seminary where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. He is also a graduate of Wiley College were he received a Bachelor of Business Administration.​ He is a Life Member of the NAACP.


Reverend Larry W. Cain is the son of the house of Peaceful Rest Baptist Church. He is married to Tomiko Fuller Cain. He is retired from Libbey Glass.
